How fast they grow!

Grace seems to be getting older everyday.  It is amazing to watch her grow and learn.  Her hair is getting longer and she now has seven teeth.

She is getting faster crawling each day and almost seems to race us across the floor.  One of her favorite games is to try to race to a room when we open the door, especially when it is a room she is not allowed into (like the pantry). She comes close to pulling up on her feet but has stopped with one foot and one knee on the ground thus far.

Fun with finger foods!

Grace is learning how to make quite the mess during dinner time.  One night recently, we were having baked sweet potatoes, and since she loves her baby food version, it seemed like a good idea to let her try some.  Let's just say I am not sure any ended up in her mouth, but some definitely ended up in her hair.

On another night, we decided to giver her some blueberries.  I cannot even remember what we were eating that made us think to do this, but again, she loves Gerber baby foods with blueberries, so this seemed like another good finger food opportunity.  Once again, crushing the blueberries was much more fun than eating the blueberries.  Actually she did try some but she didn't seem enthusiastic about the skins and would spit them back out.

First trip to the Fort Worth Zoo

On May 31, Grace made her first visit to the Fort Worth Zoo.

The Trinity University Alumni Association - Fort Worth Chapter was holding a family event that day, and it was a good reason to take Grace to the zoo for the first time.

It was hot . . . and humid.  And the truth is, it is hard for a kid to see much at the zoo from stroller height.  It is also a lot of work taking a kid in and out of a stroller to lift them to where they can see.  Especially when they are too young to know they are missing anything.  So, I think Grace had a good time, but I think the real fun experiences are still a year or two away.
