We have two dogs, Dash and Bonny. Dash is our full blood Border Collie, and is a little skiddish of anything new . . . so needless to say we had our anxieties about how he would welcome a baby into the family. Bonny is our adopted mutt, and she is as laid back as they come with people and kids. We didn't really have much fear from her reaction.
We started out kind of slow by letting them smell her hat from the hospital, then in the first few days home we would have Grace inside in the sling and they could smell her through the sling. Then we tried holding her in our lap while they were inside.
Dash is definitely curious, but has been very gentle and sweet.
Bonny smelled her once or twice, then went and laid down. She could care less. It has actually been much tougher to get a picture of Grace meeting Bonny, just because Bonny seems to hardly notice. Even during the crying!
